Many companies are stepping up in response to the child obesity epidemic that has garnered more and more attention in the last few years. The latest company to take notice is the Hyatt Corporation, which has hundreds of locations in the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean.
The hotel group will now offer “For Kids By Kids,” a new healthy and organic menu offering items that received the seal of approval from actual kids before being implemented. The new items will “meet the most recent U.S. Dietary Guidelines for Americans, MyPlate and PHA’s standards and ensure food illustrations depict healthier options.” There will also be fruits and vegetables highlighted as the default side item.
Partnership for a Healthier America partnered with Hyatt to develop the menu, which even offers “a three-course organic meal for children developed exclusively for the brand by renowned food pioneer and chef Alice Waters.”
What do you think about the new, healthy kid’s menu? Will it make your family choose the Hyatt in the future?
